Peer-review process
SS&H employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published articles. The process is designed to uphold academic standards within the field of social sciences and humanities.
Upon submission, all manuscripts will undergo an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief to assess their suitability for the journal. This initial screening typically takes about a week. Manuscripts that are deemed suitable for further consideration are then assigned to independent experts in the relevant field for peer review.
The peer review process typically takes one to two months to complete. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on certain criteria such as originality, significance, methodology, clarity of presentation, and adherence to academic standards. The reviewers then provide feedback and recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief, who then communicates the decision to the authors.
The peer review process at SS&H is double-blind, meaning that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential. This ensures impartial evaluation and maintains the integrity of the review process.
Authors are notified of the editorial decision, which may include acceptance, revision with minor or major changes, or rejection. Where applicable, authors are encouraged to address the reviewers’ comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly before resubmission.
SS&H is committed to providing timely and constructive feedback to authors throughout the peer review process, with the ultimate goal of facilitating the dissemination of high-quality research in social sciences and humanities.
