Peer-review process
J-STEM implements a rigorous review process to ensure the quality and feasibility of articles. This process is also aimed at ensuring unidirectional academic standards in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics
After the article manuscript is submitted, the manuscript will be accepted by the Editor-in-Chief where a screening process will be carried out to assess the suitability of the article with the focus and scope of the journal. This initial examination usually takes about a week. Manuscripts deemed feasible will then be sent to an expert academic in the related field for peer review..
The peer review process can take one to two months. A reviewer will be asked to evaluate the manuscript based on certain criteria such as originality, significance, methodology, clarity of presentation, and adherence to academic standards/ethics. The appointed reviewer will be asked to provide feedback and recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief regarding the submitted article. Then, the editorial team communicates the decision taken on the article manuscript sent to the author.
The peer review process in J-STEM is double-blind, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept secret. This is to ensure an objective (impartial) evaluation and to maintain the integrity of the ongoing evaluation process.
The author will be informed regarding various possible results of the review / evaluation such as acceptance of articles, revisions before the article is actually accepted, or rejection of the submitted article. If possible, authors will be asked to respond to reviewers' comments and revise the manuscript before being resubmitted.
J-STEM is committed to providing constructive and timely feedback to authors during the peer review process, with the ultimate goal of facilitating the dissemination of quality research results in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
